ABOUT ME:

Born on a small island/fishing town off the East coast of Australia, educated in local schools, but mainly the school of life. More recently at the University of Youtube. Had a free childhood roaming and exploring the local beaches, fishing and surfing.
After completing a basic education and entering the workforce, I moved to the City for a few years until moving back to the local area. In 1975 I married the love of my life. We have two successful sons.
In 2007 life changed forever when we were involved in an horrific motor accident. My wife suffered a broken back and I finished up in a wheelchair. It took a long time for me to come to terms with the physical and mental injuries. But one day I decided bugger it, this is my life now, get on with it. After the accident we lost our business and therefore our income.
We purchased a new home, more suited to my needs. At this time I started thinking about how I can fill in my time with the restrictions I have. I the mid 90's my second son had the opportunity to do work experience with Geoff Hannah a master wood craftsman and cabinet-maker. Geoff was working on one of his master pieces at the time (his Australiana Cabinet). Geoff allowed my son to work on this with him.

My son at the end of this experience was so motivated that he started a project of his own, given he was only about 15 at the time the results were outstanding.

Then he for his major Technology and Design project for year 12 high school, designed and constructed another larger cabinet, gaining top marks for his efforts.

At the time I secretly wanted to have a go, but didn't want to interfere with what my son was achieving, also life was a bit hectic at this time. It was my son after all those years suggested I give wood inlay a go. I haven stopped ever since.
